Choosing and Using Inserts
There are many reasons parents choose gNappies Disposable Inserts or Cloth Inserts. Read on for a list of benefits of each type of insert so you can choose what works best for your baby and your lifestyle.
About Disposable Inserts
gNappies Disposable Inserts are supremely absorbent inserts with multiple options for disposal. The disposable inserts are made of cellulose fibers, fluff pulp and super absorber and can be home composted (wet ones only) or put in the bin.
Benefits of Disposable Inserts:
- Multiple disposal options
- Supreme absorption (excellent for overnight or heavy wetters)
- Gentle on sensitive skin and babies prone to rash
- Great for carers and travel
Plan on using a case (4-Pack) of Disposable Inserts every 3-4 weeks. Many parents choose to set this up through our Subscription program so that Disposable Inserts are delivered predictably and conveniently as you need them.
About Cloth Inserts
gNappies also offers absorbent Cloth Inserts. The Cloth Inserts are made of 4 layers of baby soft fabrics. Two layers of microfleece draw moisture away from baby’s bottom, while two layers of hemp/cotton trap the wetness, so baby stays dry. Parents choose Cloth Inserts as a hybrid use with Disposable Inserts, or for full time use.
Benefits of Cloth Inserts:
- Cost savings
- No managing nappy disposal
- Can be used as doublers for overnight or heavy wetters
- Can be re-used on multiple babies
If you want to use Cloth Inserts as a hybrid option with Disposable Inserts, plan on buying 1-2 packs (6 inserts per pack). You’ll have Cloth Inserts for home use, and then Disposable Inserts for out and about or for carers. If you want to use Cloth Inserts full time, we recommend having a total of 18-24 inserts per size. It’s still a good idea to keep some Disposable Inserts on hand for when extra absorbency is needed, or to go longer between washes.
