Giving Thanks: When gMums Save the Day
Imagine this. You have a new company. Cool product, but limited budget, naturally. You swallow hard and fork over the money to pay for a booth at a tradeshow in San Francisco. Three employees fly down to tend the booth. Then two fall ill. The one still standing has only one tradeshow under her belt and can’t work a booth for THREE days on her own. You send out a plea to your small customer list, “Help!”
And you get a reply: “Well … I’m in Pasadena, but I’m free this weekend, as long as I can bring my baby. But I’d love to help.”
That was our story in the Autumn of 2007. And the reply was from gMum, Annika, an early gNappies customer. Annika flew with her 6-month-old baby, Mia, to San Francisco. She bunked up in a hotel with Kelli, whom she’d never met. She stood behind the gDiapers booth from sun up to sun down, taking breaks to nurse Mia, chatting with new and expecting parents about this revolutionary disposable nappy in the cute cotton gPant, and sharing her own authentic experience (the good AND the poopy). Annika saved the g day.
Here’s the really cool thing: Annika was just the beginning. gMums and gDads the whole world over have raised their hands repeatedly, sharing their passion for gNappies with friends and strangers alike. We were astounded in 2007, and we remain giddy and grateful in 2015.
However a company measures its success – by sales, by expansion, by followers – everyone can agree that the most telling measure of success is the passion of your customers. gNappies is a successful brand because of the passion of gMums like Annika. gMums and gDads continue to raise hands high and offer to lend their time, talents, and experiences to help gNappies alter the course of human nappy history. Who could have imagined this …
